The Trash Problem
>3400 tonnes of discarded wetsuits ending up in landfill each year!
Upcycle?
We upcycle old wetsuits and give them a new lease of life.
New Products
It’s a radical thought, but change can start with an idea, a needle and some thread.
Considering The Environment
We live in a country where our oceans play an important part of our Aussie lifestyle with activities such as surfing and diving all connected to the environment - the last thing we want to do is harm it.

About us
The Big Goal!
Wettie Upcycle was set up because of my passion for our earth and marine environment and my responsibility as a human on this earth to try and not contribute to more unnecessary destruction of our beautiful natural environment through the careless act of pollution. Not to mention my horror at discovering that 3400 ton of unwanted wetsuits ended up in landfill each year and that hardly anyone not only in Australia, but also the world was working towards means of combating this.
- Caring for the Environmentas a whole
- And the Marine Environment In PArticular
- Reduce-Reuse-Recycle ... The Circular Economy
The Problem with ... well westuits I guess
Why are we picking on Wetsuits?
There is a problem and a gap in the system which means wetsuits are more likely to get dumped when they were retired, leading to 3400 tonne sof discarded wetsuits ending up in landfill each year! They are a composite material - meaning they can't easily be recycled - so unfortunately surfers, divers and water enthusiasts had no other option but to landfill them.
........ Until Now!
Neoprene is NON-Biodegradable!
Therefore Not capable of being broken down by the action of living organisms
And it’s also petroleum based.
We live in a country where our oceans play an important part of our Aussie lifestyle with activities such as surfing and diving all connected to the environment - the last thing we want to do is harm it.

Our Aim
Wettie Upcycle is on a mission to design solutions to combat neoprene pollution, help heal our earth, oceans and turn a predominately linear product into a circular product.
New Lease of Life
Neoprene’s usage doesn't need to come to an end for this material - just because its original purpose has.
We all play a part
We as individuals must reverse our current course of overconsumption.
Sustainable Practices
Let’s always celebrate the effort of trying to find a new lease of life for something rather than simply throwing it into the trash.
